What is it?
Thai Yoga Massage is a 2500 year old practice that combines the stretching and calmness of yoga with manual acupressure and reflexology. The primary aim of this healing art is to restore and balance the body’s energy system by unblocking the multitude of energy lines (known as sen) that run through the body. To do this, the practitioner applies rhythmic acupressure with thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet along with gentle stretching of the spine and extremities.
What are the benefits?
Thai massage reduces stress, boosts energy levels, increases circulation, and reduces pain. Because of the emphasis on joint movement, this form of bodywork is great for correcting misalignments of the body and improving posture.
Who is it good for?
Everyone! This form of massage is great for all ages, pre and post natal women, and various musculoskeletal injuries including: chronic neck and back pain, hip and shoulder bursitis, patellar and quadriceps tendonitis, and Achilles tendonitis. Those experiencing acute pain should be cleared by a health professional before receiving treatment.
